My son
Stefan asked for ‘healthy’ brownies. … so I went looking and found this
fabulous (in taste and in ease) recipe with no sugar (but dates and honey), no
milk, no eggs and no flour. It is
also RAW and needs no cooking, AND it passed my husband’s taste test and he is
not a raw vegan J
It works with or without the icing, but if this is a treat for your kids
and they are not already overdoing it on junk food or if it is a healthier
dessert for your guests – splurge and add the icing. This recipe contains honey and chocolate and is NOT
suitable for a baby under 12 months old.
The important difference between these brownies and traditional brownies
is the dense nutrients and the lack of useless calories and fat. Every ingredient has nutritional value!
We can truly shift our families diet by focusing on quality and not
quantity. These brownies don’t
leave you feeling hungry, slugglish and miserable an hour later… they are
energizers and filling.

Chocolate Date
icing:
1 c fresh
dates without pits
2 TBSP
coconut oil
¼ c honey
¼ c cacao
UP TO ¾ c
water
Blend
everything except the water in the food processor or a high speed blender.
Add the
water slowly until it is the right consistency to spread (I finished mine off
with a hand held blender to make it very smooth), become creamy and delicious.
Spread on
your brownies… or use as a dip for fresh cut fruit!!
